KURESOI MP Zakayo Cheruiyot has accused Prime Minister Raila Odinga for dishonesty over the Mau Forest Evictions and maintained that the PM has been politicising the matter. Cheruiyot rubbished the Mau Resettlement Committee accusing its members of greed. He noted that ODM has subjugated the victims of the Mau evictions.
The MP accused the PM of appointing his friends to the Mau Resettlement who, he said, have perpetuated the subjugation. “We knew everything about Mau was politics. The committee was useless and the members were greedy,” he said. Cheruiyot was speaking yesterday at the United Republican Party headquarters when he led MPs from the region in receiving Francis Sigei to the party. Sigei is the immediate former Kenya High Commissioner to Nigeria. He resigned to contest the Sotik parliamentary seat. He also served as Nairobi Provincial Commissioner.
