Deputy Prime Minister Musalia Mudavadi has told Kenyans he will transform the economy if elected president.
The DPM who was addressing Kenyans living in Boston, United States Monday evening said he will strive to increase the per capita income from US$1200 currently to between US$ 3500 and US$5000 in the first five years of his government.
Mudavadi  said one of the crises facing Kenya was that of unemployment as the country faces the challenge on how to create jobs.
"With a coherent economic policy that will attract investment and a philosophy that abhors political polarisation, we can create for ourselves a thriving economy" he said.
"My government will be founded on the spirit on inclusion.  We will tap the diversity and immense resources that are present in the Kenyan people and the Diaspora is no exception.  We value you and are ready to engage you in national development.  I look forward to poaching some of you to come home and help me achieve the promise of building a great Kenya", he added.
Mudavadi  who promised to focus on youth employment,  warned that the Kenyan demography shows that the crisis of youth unemployment poses security risks that must not be ignored.
"I have a sense of what could go wrong; it is the wrong politics of populism and consequent neglect of issues that threaten the wellbeing of the citizen. That's why even as I desire to be popular, I have no intention of being populist with matters of Kenyans' wellbeing".
Hhe added  "My goal is to be able to sustain a coherent and united state, to lead a government that is respected by the people it serves," he said.
Mr Mudavadi told Kenyans living in Massachusetts on Monday night that he "remains pragmatic, realistic and hopeful" about Kenya's resilience and capacity to pull out of bad situations.
"I admire the resilience of the Kenyan diaspora. Even when everything seemed lost, it is you who have salvaged Kenya through your remittances. As a diaspora you hold the key to unlocking ethnic polarisation and at the same time building the economy", he said.
The DPM said the Kenyan diaspora should always conduct due diligence on conveyance agencies back in Kenya before entrusting them with their investments.
"Avoid being the person who purchases a gold bar on the street and then blames government when you discover you've been conned with a valueless metal", he warned while urging Kenyans abroad to consult government agencies to secure their investments.
