Monday 3nd September 2012- After serving as a government spokesman for close to a decade, Alfred Mutua has just resigned today to pursue his career in politics.
He was appointed on June 22, 2004 and was tasked with setting up a new office and communication system for the Republic of Kenya. He now wants to run for Governor of Machakos where he comes from and has received the endorsement of President Kibaki.
Mutua's career has been varied. He has been a Journalist and Filmmaker with 14 years experience in both Print and Broadcasting in Kenya, the United States (US), Australia and the United Arab Emirates. (UAE).
Above all, he has been the government spoke man. He had his rightful share of hate from majority of Kenyans who view him negatively as they deem him a protector of Government even when it is wrong.
In 2008 it is rumored that his wife was cheating on him with a mzungu expatriate while he was busy defending the collapsing Kibaki regime.
Recently Alfred Mutua has been having problems with a prominent blogger Robert Alai over his tweets and allegations that he is a murderer. Alai claimed in his tweets that Mutua ordered for the execution of G.P. Oulu and Oscar King'ara calling them Mungiki and now he wants to do the same to him.
