Ms Ngilu claimed the scheme involved ensuring that she was charged with criminal responsibility over the water scandals in her ministry to block her from contesting in the elections.
She blamed political rivals for her woes, arguing that the arraignment in court of her close relatives and friends had convinced her that she was the main target.

“After seeing I have no case, Kenya Anti-Corruption Commission goes for my relatives and close friends. This is pure witch-hunt,” she said at Zombe area in Mutito constituency.
She made the allegations just a day after seven suspects, including her son-in-law Billy Indeche and senior ministry officials, were arraigned in court charged with conspiracy to defraud the Water Ministry. (READ: Eight deny Sh26m Water Ministry fraud charge)
