The body of rhumba artiste Musa Juma will be ferried to Nairobi on Sunday as funeral arrangements start.

“The family and the organising committee have decided that the remains of Musa Juma be transported to Nairobi on Sunday for further preservation and to await the conclusion of burial arrangements,” family spokesman Gor Sunguh said on Thursday.
Arrives in capital
The mode of transport would be announced later to enable fans arrange to receive the body when it arrives in the capital, the former Kisumu East MP said.
At the same time, Mr Sunguh revealed that a series of fundraising performances by a number of bands has been lined up in Mombasa.
The performances by several bands, including Juma’s Limpopo International Band, are slated for The Studio this evening and at Pan City on Saturday evening.
Speaking to journalists at Mombasa Hospital where the musician died while undergoing treatment on Tuesday evening, Mr Sunguh said that Juma contracted pneumonia while in the United States, where he had stayed for several months while on a musical tour. uma’s body is at the hospital’s mortuary.
“He returned home in February after staying in the US throughout the winter. He contracted pneumonia due to the very cold weather there,” said Mr Sunguh, who was accompanied by the Juma’s widow, Winnie, and other family members.
