Rwanda’s President Paul Kagame is set to visit Kenya early next week.
President Kagame is expected in the country on Wednesday to attend the United States International University’s 40th anniversary celebrations.
Apart from officiating at the ceremony, Mr Kagame will also address university students on the “Role of Universities in Developing the Next Generation of African Leaders.”
His visit comes against a backdrop of a brewing tussle between member states of the East African Community over the secretary-general’s position in the bloc. (Read: Lobbying for EAC job stepped up)
Mr Kagame had earlier said that the post was rotational, arguing it was Rwanda’s turn to take up the post.
The position is currently held by Tanzania’s Juma Mwapachu.
