Gaddafi invites leaders to talk unity of Africa

By NICHOLAS ANYUOR
A delegation of 100 elders have left the country for Libya to meet its leader Maumar Gaddafi.
At the centre of the visit is the coordination role played by businessman Paul Kamlesh Pattni.
During the meeting, the elders are expected to discuss the possibility of bringing peace to Kenya and the founding of a united Africa.
This comes ahead of a mega one slated for September this year that will attract elders from around the continent.
The September meeting is aimed at forging ways of founding a lasting solution to violence on the continent and form a united continent.
Under the umbrella of House of Traditional Elders of Kenya, the elders left the country for the meeting that could take a maximum of four days.
The House of Traditional Elders of Kenya Vice-Chairperson Riaga Ogalo said: "Elders can come back to their countries to preach peace and unite people of Africa."
The elders said there could be a discussion on the formation of a United States of Africa.
"That could be another serious agenda because what we want is a peaceful continent where people treat each other as brothers and sisters," he said, adding: "There will be another meeting this September where all African elders will meet to discuss the issue of unity and peaceful co-existence on the continent."
