Prime Minister Raila Odinga on Friday wooed voters in the Rift Valley amid and asking them to support him in future.

“I am grateful for supporting me during the last General Election. We are still together until we finish the journey next time,” he said in apparent reference to his presidential ambition.

He added that despite the difference in the referendum campaigns, we now have a new constitution. “Now let’s wake up and face a new dawn.”

He spoke at Kipkelion during the commissioning of the 63km Londiani-Forternan-Muhoroni road.

Mr Odinga yesterday said: “You understand the Mau evictions had to be carried out to pave the way for the rehabilitation of the forest, which we did, and the victims will be compensated,” said Mr Odinga.

In Kapsabet Town, Mr Odinga asked the Kalenjin not to complain of being sidelined in government.

He maintained they had been given key ministries in the coalition government. “We have Agriculture, Roads, Industrialisation and Higher Education occupied by your people,” he said.
