Former assistant minister Omingo Magara has denied that he was warming up to ODM, which he ditched just before a by-election in South Mugirango constituency.
He also dismissed reports that he and Prime Minister Raila Odinga had agreed to work together.
Mr Magara and Mr Odinga met at a funeral for South Mugirango ODM aspirant Ibrahim Ochoi.
A noble thing
Mr Magara said he was rooted in the People’s Democratic Party, a PNU ally.
“What I did was welcome the PM to our area, which is the noble thing to do when you have guests,” Mr Magara said.
A tough-talking Magara said his relationship with ODM was “dead and buried”. He said the party was not tolerant of different views from its leadership.
“We in PDP are working with PNU, which we find to be honest and sincere,” he said.
In particular, he pointed out that ODM denied him a direct ticket for the by-election, yet it had not held any nominations for its candidates in Juja, Makadara and Starehe.

Magara must learn to read political mood and having failed to do so, he is now in the political cold and should not blame the PM. Who was he to welcome the PM. Nyamweya is the MP and was there to welcome the PM so his presence or absence could have not chnaged anything for the PM and ODm and more so considering that Nyamweya had pledged to support the PM in 2012, ODM and PM does not need Magara.
