It is all systems go for 772,000 pupils who start Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examinations Tuesday.
Kenya National Examination Council Secretary Paul Wasanga addressing a press conference assured all preparations had been finalized for the three-day exercise.
He said measures had been put in place to curb cheating and also ensure all candidates who had their rehearsals on Monday sit the exam without any hitches.
He said the examinations materials were over the weekend distributed to examination centers.
He said they had put in place contingencies to ensure smooth delivery and collection in flood hit areas.
"The papers have been airlifted to affected areas among others Magarini, Malindi and Tana Delta and those affected have been shifted to safer grounds where they will sit the exams" said Wasanga.
At least 15 000 security personnel have been deployed to the over 21 000 schools to ensure security is maintained.
In this year's exams 680 students from southern Sudan will sit the examinations.
In Mombasa, Coast Provincial Director of Education,Majani Alex Tom confirmed that they received the papers at the weekend and had been distributed to the relevant exam centres.
Last year 695,704 candidates sat for the exams
