Ababu represents Uhuru at Ndayishimiye's inauguration

 



Foreign Affairs CAS Hon Ababu Namwamba on Thursday joined other leaders and dignitaries at the inauguration ceremony of Maj. Gen Evariste Ndayishimiye as President of Burundi held at political capital Gitega.
Hon Namwamba represented President Uhuru Kenyatta at the swearing in ceremony that was attended by representatives of Governments, diplomats and other dignitaries.
In his message President Uhuru lauded the people of Burundi for holding a a historic democratic election and a peaceful transition of power and reaffirmed Kenya readiness to work closely with Burundi to enhance cooperation between the two Countries.
Hon Namwamba also delivered a message of condolence to people of Burundi due to the sudden death of outgoing President Pieree Nkurunziza.
Evariste Ndayishimiye was sworn in as Burundi's new president a week after the sudden death of outgoing President Pierre Nkurunziza.
Ndayishimiye was originally scheduled to be sworn into office in August, but the Constitutional Court ruled last week that Ndayishimiye’s swearing take place as soon as possible following the death of his predecessor.
