You can text or WhatsApp Nkaissery on 07 19 777 719 and Kibicho on 0780 719 750.
The Ministry of Interior has released the numbers just three days after Nkaissery joined Kenyans on Twitter and Instagram using the handle @GenNkaissery.
As of 12.08pm on Monday, he had 208 followers and his first few tweets were retweets of the National Police Service who uploaded photos of him at the Inspector General’s Conference over the weekend.
The release of the numbers follow the launch of www.interior.go.ke and email addresses on which both Nkaissery and Kibicho can be reached –cs@interior.go.ke and ps@interior.go.ke respectively – in an effort to encourage public participation in security matters and to make it easier to report suspicious activity.
Kenyans on Twitter already actively engage Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet, often posting images of police caught soliciting bribes.
Over the weekend, it emerged that President Uhuru Kenyatta himself reported witnessing two police officers solicit bribes from matatu operators when they obstructed his motorcade in Mombasa.
President Kenyatta has time and again impressed upon the public the need to share information with security agencies particularly in the fight against terror; appearing on billboards and on advertisements in that effort.
He’s also made it a priority to evolve beyond the physical, typically red, comment boxes that adorn the walls of many a public office and to optimise on developments in ICT.
Just months after taking up office, he announced the creation of a website on which Kenyans could report corrupt public officials who demanded bribes or otherwise.
A week ago, he was shown to be the most popular sub-Saharan leader on Facebook with two million likes in a survey conducted by Burson-Marsteller.
