EACC Proposes Prosecution of Four Cabinet Secretaries
The Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission (EACC) has proposed the prosecution of four cabinet secretaries in relation to corruption.
Speaking during a press briefing on Sunday, EACC CEO Halakhe Waqo said the commission will on Monday send files of four cabinet secretaries to the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) for action.
"Files of Charity Ngilu, Michael Kamau, Felix Koskei and Kazungu Kambi will be taken to the DPP for probable action," said Waqo.
Files of one Member of Parliament and one senator will also be forwarded to the DPP on Monday.
Waqo also stated that 54 out of 124 files have been finalised while 68 cases are under active investigations.
He said that 19 public officers have been arraigned in court with 29 individuals set to be arraigned in the next weeks.
He further stated that it was not possible to finalise investigations into the graft allegations within 60 days, though remaining non-committal on the amount of time they need to finish investigations.
