External forces fighting PAC, says MP Nyamweya

BY JAMES MBAKA

FORCES outside Parliament are behind the woes of the Parliamentary Public Accounts Committee, a committee member has said.
Bribery allegations have rocked the Ababu Namwamba-led opposition watchdog with revelations that some members may have pocketed millions to alter reports in favour of powerful individuals implicated.
South Mugirango MP Manson Nyamweya said the 'external' forces are opposed to the committee's findings of the the Judicial Service Commission probe and investigations into the electoral agency's irregular procurement of electronic voting kits.
Speaking to the Star on the phone yesterday, he said the mandate of Parliament is under siege by powerful individuals out to protect corruption beneficiaries.
"The forces just do not want individuals culpable to be accountable," Nyamweya said.
