Photo/File Ole Lenku has no character that can be defamed, Lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi has said, rubbishing apology demands by the Interior CS over defamation. Lenku wrote to Abdullahi demanding the apology within 24 hours over defamatory messages the lawyer allegedly posted on his Twitter account that linked the CS to land grabbing. Through his lawyer Donald Kipkorir, Lenku lodged a criminal complaint to the Director of Public Prosecutions Keriako Tobiko over the messages. He said the words as published on Abdullahi's Twitter handle were intended to "injure, ridicule and subject him to hatred". He said they also implied that he does not respect the rule of law and tat he engages in racial discrimination. Abdulahi termed the demands “utter nonsense”. On his twitter handle, @ahmednasirlaw, he said he stands by every word he 'tweeted'. He further shot back, “What reputation and character are you talking about? And as for the demand, you must be kidding?” Some of the tweets posted between October 7 and November 2, say that the Karen land grab was only a tip of the iceberg and that the (President Robert) doctrine of the forceful grabbing of private land has now been adopted as a policy by the government. The tweets allege that there were massive evictions going on at private farms in Narok reportedly spearheaded by a “Cabinet Secretary, the governor and an MP". It is further claimed that Court of Appeal judge Mohammed Warsame has been evicted from his farm by goons allegedly sent by the three leaders. The CS says he will lodge a complaint over the misuse of social media as set out in section 84, among other sections of the penal code. The letter has been copied to Tobiko, Inspector General of Police David Kimaiyo, the solicitor General Njee Muturi and CID director Ndegwa Muhoro.
