Cord has said it is not part of a group formed by MPs from the government and opposition to spearhead national dialogue.
In a statement  the coalition said it will continue with its rallies this weekend as a build up for  Monday’s Saba Saba day.
“CORD has and will continue to maintain that the sovereignty of the country lies with the people of Kenya as enshrined in Chapter One of the constitution and that such talks must be open to all stakeholders in the country,” the statement reads.
The government is reportedly in a state of high alert over the Saba Saba rally called by opposition leader Raila Odinga.
According to multiple sources the security organs are not sure what the Cord leader is up to if he is not allowed to dialogue with the government on his own terms.
However, Raila on Tuesday sought to allay fears of chaos at or after the rally. His assurance came days after the government accused the opposition of recruiting members of the outlawed criminal gangs MRC and Mungiki to topple President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Cord said the rallies which will begin on Friday will be held at Gusii Stadium, in Kisii  and Busia Stadium at 10am and later at Ugunja in Siaya County. Saturday’s rally will take place in Kisumu then Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos on Sunday.
