ODM term as propaganda talks of coalition leader Raila Odinga running for Nairobi governor in the event of Kidero’s removal by Supreme court.
ODM has dismissed allegations of ODM party leader Raila Odinga vying in the Nairobi gubernatorial by-election should the Supreme court uphold the nullification of Kidero’s election as governor by the Appellate court last month.
ODM’s director of communications Philip Etale has said that the rumors are meant to discredit the persona and stature of Odinga as the Cord leader and should be treated with the contempt it deserves.
“Raila has stated not in one forum but on many occasions that he supports Dr Kidero and will stand with him at all times just like he would to all the other Governors elected under the Cord umbrella,” Etale said.
Etale said that it is Raila's wish that the nation focuses on important matters such as the full implementation of devolution with enough resources allocated to ensure adequate service delivery to mwananchi at the local level, and not on baseless and unsupported claims.
