Our moles tell us that President Uhuru Kenyatta has heeded the advice of his security chiefs and set up a new office at Jogoo House B just next to that of Inspector General of Police David Kimaiyo. The moles tell us that the office which is now fully furnished may soon start being used as an “operation centre.” The president already has an office at State House as well as at Harambee House directly opposite that of Deputy President William Ruto.

A politician was embarrassed when he attempted to use unorthodox means to graduate from one of the public universities recently. The man who served in the 10th Parliament had enrolled at the university for a degree course three years ago as a way of boosting his political chances in the new constitutional dispensation. But despite his high profile status, the man hardly attended classes and failed in almost all the Continuous Assessment Tests (CATs) that he was forced to sit. The politician was stunned when his request to be allowed to graduate and complete his studies later was rejected by the university.

The management of a leading energy company based in Industrial area is being accused of adopting crude and unorthodox method when dealing with its competitors in and out of the sector. The company, which is new in the market, is reportedly using the services of hired desperadoes to deal with with its competitors, real or imagined. Last week, the company goons armed with crude weapons, stormed a construction site and violently evicted the workers of a rival company in an incident that left three workers seriously injured.

The Embakasi police boss has enthusiastically jumped to enforcing the Mututho laws. However, his men were too enthusiastic as they started arresting people who they found drinking in pubs long before the 11 pm deadline when pubs are supposed to stop serving patrons. With the holiday season soon upon us,the residents have promised to defy what they claim is an attempt by the police to find new ways of extorting from Kenyans. Incidentally, neither of those allegedly arrested for drinking after hours were booked for charging. They all got off after paying something small to the over-enthusiastic cops!
