Corridors of Power

MONDAY, APRIL 8, 2013 - 00:00 -- BY POLITICAL DESK
It seems that some individuals close to President elect Uhuru Kenyatta cannot seem to let go of their man. These individuals have been so protective of their brand that they decided to take over the arrangements of tomorrow's inauguration. They had reportedly contracted a private company to carry out the live broadcast with other media houses paying to get the live feeds! The plan was jettisoned after the Presidential Press Service and other State House mandarins overturned the plan which some of our moles tell us would have earned the private company a cool Sh10 million!

With less than 24 hours to go before Uhuru is sworn in, our wags tell us of the scramble by some state officers for office furnishings, wall hangings and other moveable furniture from the office of the outgoing Vice president Kalonzo Musyoka are at a top gear. On Friday afternoon,  immediately Kalonzo took his personal property out of his Jogoo house office, some officers from departments within the ministry of Home Affairs moved in scrambling whatever furniture including carpeting and wall hangings he left behind. The furniture and everything else was bought at great expense by taxpayers funds and it is anticipated that the accounting officer takes action to protect the theft or 'channelling' of these resources!

Deputy President-elect William Ruto may have been used to popping up unannounced at a church service whenever he felt like it. However things may have to change since his election. He left the Deputy Presidential Press Service (DPPS) team off guard as they did not know where he was attend yesterday's church service. They arrived at the church more than 20 minutes late.
