Corridors of Power
Cherangany MP Wesley Korir will make history on Monday when he takes to the course to defend his Boston Marathon title. Korir has been training hard for the event despite his new status as an MP and has vowed to continue participating in international races. His constituents have been urging him to continue pursuing his passion as he represents them in the National Assembly.
Someone has created a Facebook page and uploaded pictures of President Uhuru’s daughter Ngina. The pictures, which show the young lady drinking with her friends and relatives, have gone viral. People on social media have been making all manner of comments about them.
Martha Karua will hold a meeting with her supporters and party members in Naivasha this weekend. They are set to “do a postmortem of the election” and decide on the way forward. The question is, what will her political future be after this weekend?
The decision by the Public Service Commission to advertise – for the third time – vacancies for Principal Secretaries has raised lots of questions. Many are questioning the rationale behind the advert. While some say there is nothing wrong, others are insinuating the advert is meant to accommodate associates of the new regime.
What happened to the People’s Court website? Hours after it was launched by human rights activist Maina Kiai and African Centre for Governance executive director Gladwell Otieno, the website collapsed. It is not clear whether it crashed because it couldn’t handle the many hits it was receiving or because someone hacked into it.
