Nairobi's first governor, Dr. Evans Kidero's office will now be housed at the city hall. This is after the government scuttled plans by the transitional authority to have the seat of power for the country's commercial and political capital located at the prestigious Shell and BP house which currently houses prime minister Raila Odinga's office. The office has since been assigned to the incoming deputy president. The government's action has however not gone down well with the transitional authority, which accuses the state of overstepping its mandate
