Kisumu County produces top KCSE performers

Kisumu County performed exceptionally well with Maseno High School producing the top candidate Tony Edgar, in the county.
Kisumu Girls High School has also retained its top position in the county with a mean score of 65.289.
The institution which was recently upgraded to a national school came in second after Maseno High School that stamped its authority in the county.
Kisumu Girls, with an enrolment of 234 candidates, is ranked position 85 nationally and emerged second in Nyanza after Asumbi Girls High School which attained a mean score of 65.781.
The school’s deputy principal, Ms Mary Oruko, said they expected better results, adding that they improved from 9.0 to 9.14.
“We are disappointed because we only have five plain As. The teachers worked together with the students and parents and that is why we improved in our performance,” she added.
Kisumu Girls candidates also beat their arch rivals and neighbours Kisumu Boys who recorded a mean score of 62.703.
Kereri Girls High School (63.229) came in third position followed by Ngiya girls (60.490) and St Charles Lwanga Ichuni Girls High School in Kisii.
