IEBC tallying was a DAYLIGHT ROBBERY – RAILA ODINGA’s number 2 KALONZO asserts

Monday March 11, 2013 - Outgoing Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka has accused the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) of condoning daylight robbery at the just concluded general election.

Speaking at Wamunyu in Machakos County during the funeral of the former chairman of defunct Election Commission of Kenya (ECK), Samuel Kivuitu, Kalonzo said the collapse of the Biometric Voter Registration (BVR) kits was planned to facilitate rigging in favour of president – elect Uhuru Kenyatta.

“The collapse of the BVR machines and vote transmission machines facilitated rigging but we urge our supporters to remain calm as we seek legal redress,” Kalonzo said.

Meanwhile, The National Alliance (TNA) Machakos County co-ordinator Charles Kimeu has thanked Ukambani residents who voted for President-elect Uhuru Kenyatta.

Kimeu said Kenyans should now put the elections behind them and move on.

He said the Jubilee Coalition won the election fairly and the losers should work together with them and not seek legal redress.

The co-ordinator also praised Kenyans for being peaceful before, during and after the polls saying the country had now earned respect from the international community.
