The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) on Sunday said the General Election will be peaceful, free and fair and urged registered voters to participate in the process on Monday.
IEBC chair Issack Hassan will try to release the provisional presidential results within 48 hours after poll centres close.
Mr Hassan has also asked voters not to sell their identification cards (IDs) as well as to avoid wearing clothes with colours affiliated to different political parties.
He also said that security has been beefed up in polling stations to deter any violence.
Mr Hassan said polling stations will open at 6am all the way to 5pm as required by the law. He appealed to employers withholding staff IDs to release them so that they can vote.
He urged politicians to respect the elections results and any complaints be channelled in courts.
The Kenya Police spokesman Charles Owino noted that over 7,000 senior officers have been deployed all over the country to supervise the elections.
Mr Owino also said that security will not be compromised and that any person found wearing 'fake' police uniform will be arrested.
"Kenyans should not panic. We are in charge of security in this country and our duty is to protect you," he said.
"Anybody who attacks peaceful members of the public with a firearm is not a policeman," he added.
