UHURU, RUTO and RAILA’s brother HECKLED at a meeting in KISII

Tuesday January 8, 2013 - Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta Eldoret North MP William Ruto and Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s half brother Omondi Oginga were on Monday heckled and booed at a Jubilee alliance rally in Ogembo town, Kisii County.

Uhuru and Ruto were on their campaign trail when angry youths started singing songs of praising CORD’s Presidential flag bearer Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

Odinga’s brother found himself on the wrong side when he asked the crowd to shout loud enough “to scare ODM out of Gusii region”.

Omondi had been invited by United Republican Party (URP) leader William Ruto to address the crowd but as soon as he started mentioning Mr Odinga’s name, he was heckled and had to cut short his address.

Speaking after the calm restored, Ruto said the difference between Jubilee and Cord was like night and day.

“Our vision, policies and the marshal plans we have put in place to make the country move forward are totally different from CORD coalition,” Ruto said.

The former Agriculture Minister said Kenyan politics had changed and hatred and election violence should be shunned.

He also challenged the PM and CORD leaders to come up with policies that would address the plight of farmers and women instead of engaging in hate speech and mudslinging.
