Two MPs have defected to the Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (Cord).
Chachu Ganya (North Horr) and Adan Keynan (Wajir West) who were allied to the Jubilee Coalition said on Tuesday Cord was committed to implementing the Constitution.
Another MP Joseph Lekuton (Laisamis) was also expected to defect.
Prime Minister Raila Odinga, who is Cord's presidential flagbearer, welcomed the MPs saying the alliance would form the next government.
Mr Odinga said Cord was the party of choice for a majority of Kenyans.
"It is only Raila who will bring change to the country. All leaders in Marsabit have resolved to join Cord," said Mr Ganya.
The MP said Marsabit area leaders had resolved to campaign for Cord and ensure it wins all elective seats in the region.
Mr Ganya said the PM had been consistent in addressing issues facing pastoralists.
Northern Kenya Development minister Mohammed Elmi said Cord will spearhead devolution and address human rights issues facing the population in northern Kenya.
Mr Odinga said he will introduce a monetary economy in the region if elected president.
He said incidences of cattle rustling would be a thing of the past.
The PM said his government will invest in wind energy, develop the leather industry, improve security in the region and the country as a whole and give impetus to search for oil and other minerals.
