RAILA ODINGA’s degree in Engineering REVEALED …. For the FIRST TIME

Raila Odinga Oginga, born on 7th January 1945 was from the 16th November1964 until 20th August 1969 student of the Technical University Magdeburg. He finished with the German degree “Diplomingenieur” . In German, the traditional engineer’s degree is called Diplom-Ingenieur (Dipl.-Ing., in Austria also DI), this engineer’s degree lasts 5 to 6 years . 

This degree is generally equivalent to a Master’s degree, which is not to be confused with the old Magister degree. Most programs that used to lead to a Dipl.-Ing. degree lead to Master’s degrees today, as the Diplom-Ingenieur as an academic title is phased out because of the Bologna process.

The Technical University Magdeburg was in 1993 absorbed by the The Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg (German: Otto-von-Guericke-Universität Magdeburg) and is one of the youngest universities in Germany. The university in Magdeburg has about 14,000 students in nine faculties. There are 11,700 papers published in international journals from this institute.

The former Technical University Magdeburg (Technische Hochschule Magdeburg), a Teacher Training College and a Medical School were absorbed into the university when it was created. The university now composes nine faculties.

Raila Odinga, Prime Minister of Kenya, is an alumnus of the former Technical University. Professor Dr. Nguyen Thien Nhan, current Vietnam’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education & Training, is also an alumnus of the former Technical University. Dr. Rumiana Jeleva, former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria (2009–2010), earned a PhD degree in sociology at the Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg.
