Prime Minister Raila Odinga Wednesday paid tribute to the 10th parliament saying it will go down in history as the legislature that fought for the realization of the new constitution.
In his statement, Odinga cited some of the achievements made by the House among them the passing of bills crucial to the implementation of the constitution.
He also paid tribute to the Grand Coalition Government for its performance in infrastructure development, food security, energy source expansion, poverty reduction and liberation of Somalia among others.
However, the PM was quick to remind parliament that there was still a huge task ahead among others the full implementation of the new law, realization of Vision 2030 and full integration of the East Africa Community.
He urged Kenyans to be peaceful and shun tribalism during the electioneering period. Legislators hailed the work done by the coalition government and called for peaceful elections.
They also commended the landmark rulings by Speaker Kenneth Marende saying he had brought order to the House.
Gichugu MP Martha Karua said the fight against corruption was still wanting since most of the corruption cases had not been dealt with.
