Narc-Kenya presidential candidate Martha Karua on Monday named former East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) MP Augustine Lotodo as her running mate.
While addressing the press, Ms Karua said Mr Lotodo has a passion for change and understands the challenges facing the marginalised societies.
She said that Mr Lotodo being a board member of Northern Water Service, he understands vital issues of environment and water provision as well as how state corporations work.
Ms Karua also noted that being a former EALA member, Mr Lotodo had the experience of negotiating with lawmakers and well versed with regional affairs.
"This country needs leaders who put the interest of the nation above themselves, leaders who love their country and have a vision, where tribalism and corruption are things of the past and where children can grow into being anything they wish and where families can live in peace and security," she said.
At the function, Mr Lotodo said that he understood issues affecting marginalised societies and was capable of handling them.
"Coming from a minority community, I know the challenges that marginalised communities face having being ignored for a long time in the face of their government," he said.
