The Eagle Alliance will present the list of its candidates in the March 4 General Election to the electoral commission on Monday.
The alliance’s flag bearer Peter Kenneth said that they had prepared the list and were ready to present it to the electoral team as required by the law.
“We are giving them a full list, we did our nominations early enough, we are ready to go,” Mr Kenneth said on Sunday after attending a Service at Mavuno Church in Nairobi.
Parties are required to submit their list of nominees before the end of Monday.
Mr Kenneth also said the current wave of unrest from party primaries was an indication that voters had not learned from the 2007 violence.
He said it was unfortunate that the nominations had led to the unrest when they were supposed to give people a chance to elect their leaders.
“Although I do not want to delve in matters of other parties, the violence is a good indication that we have not derived any lessons from the last post-election violence,” Mr Kenneth noted.
He said such dissatisfaction among voters arose when they felt that some choices had been made for them against their wish.
He expressed satisfaction at the way his party had conducted its primaries saying that they did not face any challenges despite stiff competition between ticket seekers.
Mr Kenneth was accompanied by his running mate Ronnie Osumba who appealed for peace and asked dissatisfied voters to prepare for another chance to vote in those they want.
“We are appealing for peace even if the voters are not satisfied. We are asking them to exercise restraint as much as possible. This is not the last chance to vote. We still have March 4,” Mr Osumba said.
