Wednesday October 3, 2012 - Lands Minister James Orengo and Finance Assistant Minister Dr Oburu Odinga are holding talks to decide on who will run for the Siaya County Senator seat.
Gem MP Jakoyo Midiwo who has initiated the talks said he decided to intervene on the dispute after seeing their fallout can be detrimental to the Orange party.
Orengo and Oburu are key strategists in the party.
Midiwo had threatened to support Orengo if the two failed to agree on who would run for the seat.
But the Gem MP is swimming in murky waters after Siaya leaders said the Odinga's family had groomed Mr Midiwo into a politician he is today and therefore he should support Dr Oburu Odinga for the Siaya Senate race.
They said Midiwo is like a foolish boy “who bites the hand that feeds him”.
Midiwo is a first cousin to Dr Oburu Odinga who is elder brother to Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
