FORMER South Mugirango MP Omingo Magara may ditch Eldoret North MP William Ruto’s URP for a new party. Magara, who is contesting the Kisii senator seat at the weekend hinted that he will launch a party that will unite the Kisii community.
“Consultations are at an advanced stage. As a community, we should have a vehicle that will enable us negotiate and become relevant in national politics,” Magara said.
Sources close to the former Trade assistant minister said he may re-launch the Peoples Democratic Party through which he contested and lost a by-election.
“We are going to engage as a community with whoever means well for us,” Magara said. Yesterday, Magara said he is still associating with Ruto.
Recently, another Ruto ally Patrick Osero defected to ODM and was received by Prime Minister Raila Odinga in Nyamira last week. Osero will contest the Borabu parliamentary seat on an ODM ticket.
