Teachers have vowed to continue with strike despite a court order and TSC ultimatum.
The Kenya National Union of Teachers (Knut) on Sunday said government must meet their pay demands.
TSC had ordered them to return to work on Monday or face the sack.
On Friday, the Industrial Court ruled the teachers strike as unconstitutional and against labour laws.
Learning in schools across the country has been paralysed as the teachers boycotted classes last week.
Presidential aspirant Raphael Tuju also called on the government to reach a speedy solution that will end the teachers’ strike.
He said the strike was affecting students especially from public schools.
“The children of the poor people in society are the ones who are suffering. The rich people can take their children to private hospitals, private schools and private universities. For them the strike is not an issue,” he said.
He blamed the current leadership for turning the strike into a political debate at the expense of the future of the children.

Mr Tuju further criticised how Education minister Mutula Kilonzo has opted to resolve the teachers’ crisis.
“Mutula should understand that it not time to talk about the law but it is an issue of morality. He should also stop being dictatorial,” he said.
