The High Court has stopped the National Assembly from releasing benefits to the widow of Internal Security assistant minister Orwa Ojodeh.
The mother, Mrs Ulda Ojode, had moved to court seeking to stop payments to her son’s wife, Mrs Mary Ojodeh.
She had argued that if the payments were not stopped, the widow was likely to take all the benefits without sharing with her and others who had been depending on the assistant minister.
High Court judge Jonathan Havelock on Monday issued a temporary order stopping the disbursement of the funds until all parties in the dispute are heard.
College fees

This was after the lawyer representing the widow told the court that the son requires Sh10 million for his Masters degree programme following his completion of undergraduate studies.
This application had been opposed by the lawyer acting for Mr Ojodeh’s mother, arguing that no money should be released until the matter had been determined.
“We oppose this application on the grounds that the matter has not been determined,” the lawyer for Mr Ojodeh’s mother, said.
