UDF party stands a better chance of forming the next government than ODM, Deputy Prime Minister Musalia Mudavadi has said.
Addressing supporters at Mayoni and Enjija trading centres in Matungu district, Mr Mudavadi argued that ODM party was a mere shell of its former self, following the defection of stalwarts including himself, Eldoret North MP William Ruto and Water minister Charity Ngilu.
While on his way to Busia for a rally, said UDF would strive to unite Kenyans, create job opportunities, fight graft and ensure citizens get affordable and quality health care and education.
“We need to elect a person who has the interests of Kenyans and the country at heart and can be relied upon to implement the new Constitution and drive the country forward,” he said.
Ikolomani MP Bonny Khalwale and former MP Mark Too also drummed up support for Mr Mudavadi, saying he has national appeal.
They also urged residents to apply for identity cards.
“You must register as voters in big numbers because Mudavadi will need those votes to clinch that top seat,” Dr Khalwale said.
