Jirongo said his party (FPK) will advocate for strong devolution standards
Lugari Member of Parliament and Presidential Aspirant Cyrus Jirongo has formally entered the Presidential race after he launched his Federal Republican Party of Kenya (FPK).
Speaking Sunday during the launch at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC), Jirongo said his party will advocate for strong devolution standards to promote social justice that is lacking in the country.
He noted politics and economic affairs that are deeply entrenched cannot be ignored  if a country is to achieve any meaningful development.
Jirongo called on Kenyans to shun leaders who are advocating for tribal politics head of the next general election
The MP fell out with Eldoret North MP William Ruto in the URP citing State House interference in the party as well as lack of internal democracy.
Already, 28 parties under the aegis of Political Parties' Forum (PPF) have entered into a deal to support his presidential bid.
Elsewhere, Prime Minister Raila Odinga continued to endear himself to residents in the expansive Northern Frontier telling them he is best positioned to radically transform the country and ensure full realization of vision 2030.
Raila who addressed rallies in North Horr and Sololo centers, told the residents that a vote for rival parties would confine the region to the neglect witnessed in the last 50 years.
Elsewhere Deputy Prime Minister Musalia Mudavadi was reverberating similar drumbeats in Funyula where he called on the government to move with speed and address teacher's concerns that have paralyzed learning in public schools for a week now.
Mudavadi who spoke during a public rally held at Busia Stadium said, the parties involved should respect each others' rights and offer leadership to resolve the outstanding issues expeditiously.
Sentiments echoed by URP Presidential hopeful William Ruto who took his campaigns to Eldoret.
His Kenya National Congress Counterpart Peter Kenneth who pitched camp in Kajiado North Constituency called on the government not to treat casually the ongoing teachers strike. Their sentiments came as talks to avert the strike between the government and teachers are expected to resume this week.
