Confusion over TNA dinner

By James Munyeki
The planned dinner for The National Alliance (TNA) supporters from Nyahuru and Nyandarua counties flopped after the party head office denied knowledge of the event.
The dinner was to be held today in Nyahururu town by the party supporters to raise funds for the operations of the TNA in the two counties.
Party chairman Johnson Sakaja said the party head office was not aware of the event, which would cost members Sh1,000 per plate.
He said that the organisers of the said dinner were not genuine members or officials of the party and warned residents not to attend.
He termed the organisers as ‘conmen’ and urged the police to arrest them for obtaining money in false pretence.
However, local TNA organising secretary James Kabochi insisted they had been given the go ahead to conduct the event.
“We have followed all the procedures and we wonder why the officials are turning against us. We will go on with the function,” he maintained.
Already, invitation cards have been distributed within Nyahururu town and its environs.
