Tuesday September 25, 2012 -Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta’s party The National Alliance (TNA) seems to be the most popular party among the defectors who want to comply with the Election Act 2011.
On Monday, Defense Minister Yusuf Haji, Internal Security Minister Katoo Ole Metito, Sports assistant Minister Kabando wa Kabando were the latest leaders to defect from their former parties to TNA.
Hajji was allied Party of National Unity (PNU), while Metito and Kabando were allied to Mudavadi’s party United Democratic Forum (UDF).
Speaking after ditching UDF, Kabando wa Kabando said;
“I have severed links with UDF. It has no grass-root support. It is limping, staggering, stammering and it has become an ethnic trumpet,”
