The Ocampo Six have hired an international media organisation to provide a public relations and media strategy. The organisation, which has been working behind the scenes, has now come out to the public to explain their role.

The Africa World Media based in London was behind a video clip that was played last year at the AU summit in Addis Ababa. It has offices in Nairobi.

The clip was used to convince the African heads of state summit that Kenya deserved to seek a deferral and that the ICC trial will cause instability. Now the organisation has started its onslaught on the ICC process by targeting the US and its ambassador Michael Rannerbeger.

Yesterday, the organisation’s CEO David Matsanga wrote to Rannerberger accusing him and his government of hypocrisy. In the letter to the envoy, Matsanga says the US should stop misleading the world that it would apply veto power on the Kenyan case.

According to the letter, Matsanga argues that Kenya’s deferral case does not warrant a situation where any member state can apply its veto.“This is not about nuclear war and an international invasion of another country for the US to hoodwink the world that it will apply its veto,”“It is sad, prudish and sardonic from any ambassador of your caliber to engage in mass deception of Kenyans and the world at large about a USA veto, which has only been used in life threatening matter such as the USA-Cuban missile and the case of Israel,” he said. Matsanga, a conflict resolution expert, wondered why the US was interested in pushing for The Hague trails.
