The by-election for the Kamukunji parliamentary seat will be held on May 23.
The Interim Independent Electoral Commission also announced that nominations by respective parties wishing to contest the seat will run until April 21.
The parties are expected to return their candidates' nomination papers on April 27 and 28.
The seat was left vacant after a court nullified the election of Simon Mbugua over irregularities.
