Israel to help set up Supreme Court

Share/Save/Bookmark The Israel government has promised to assist Kenya establish a Supreme Court. Israel Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein asked Kenya to quickly set up a team that will work with Israel experts from their supreme court.
Speaking when he met Speaker Kenneth Marende in Jerusalem yesterday, Weinstein said: “We had discussions with your Justice Minister when he visited Israel and we already have a functional Supreme Court and we would be more than willing to provide expertise.” Weinstein explained that the two countries can form a team that will share best practices to be exported to Kenya. “The existing goodwill from Israel is available for Kenya to gain from,” he added in a meeting at Mamila Hotel. “Israel would be more than happy to work with the committees of experts when established.”
Earlier, Marende and MPs Adan Keynan, Charles Keter, David Were and David Ngugi met with Israeli Speaker Reuven Rivlin, opposition leader Tzipi Livni and the chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee Shaul Mofaz.
