Kibaki has named Dr Nelson Githinji the new State House Comptroller.
According to a statement from State House, the appointment takes effect immediately.
The statement by Presidential Press Services (PPS) said " Following separation of the office of Private Secretary/Comptroller, State House, Dr Nelson Githinji has been appointed comptroller State House".

He replaces Hyslop Ipu, who was moved to the ministry of Roads in April. Ipu was appointed Acting Private Secretary and Comptroller of State House in January 2004.
Before his appointment, Ipu was the Principal Administrative Secretary in the office of the President, having been appointed in 2002.
