Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka has urged Kenyans to prepare for transformation in the New Year.
Mr Musyoka said the country has greater chance of social economic and political transformation if the Coalition For Reforms and Democracy (Cord) take the reigns of power.
"This is a year that we look forward with great hope. Let us learn the lesson of the past and invest them in our future with renewed optimism as we seek to transform this great country," Mr Musyoka said when he delivered his New Year message at his Yatta Home in Kithimani, Machakos County Tuesday.
Mr Musyoka appealed to Kenyans to demonstrate unity and tolerance despite their differences in opinions and ideology.
The VP said the Constitution is a guiding document towards a brighter future.
Expressing confidence that Cord will form the next government, Mr Musyoka said the alliance embraces servant leadership that will lead the country into greater heights of prosperity .
"Cord binds together people of different ideologies, backgrounds and solutions into a stronger bond, the coalition is able to unite the whole nation and realize the Kenyan dream of a united nation including achieving developmental goals such as Vision 2030," Mr Musyoka said.
The VP said Cord has an elaborate programme that will be rolled out to address the challenges facing the youth, women and disabled so as to proclaim their rights and liberties as well as economically empower them.
Mr Musyoka said the next elections will be historic being a transitional election conducted under the new Constitution.
"On March 4, in just 63 days, we will have the first election under our new constitutional order. We have the opportunity to reclaim our country and our position among the community of the civilised states.
"We therefore must reject ideologies that foster hatred and instead embrace ideals that unite us for the task of building a prosperous nation," Mr Musyoka said.
The VP committed himself to visiting all corners of the Republic including areas that recently witnessed insecurity such as Turkana, Samburu, Pokot, Isiolo, Tana River and the Coast to preach and promote peace and reconciliation between various communities.
He assured Kenyan in the diaspora that the process of incorporating them as voters will begin immediately after the 2013 elections, but encouraged them to participate in choosing the right leaders through their influence back at home as they interact with their friends and relatives.
On Wiper Democratic Movement affairs, Mr Musyoka who the party leader assured members and aspirants across the country that the party will hold free and fair nominations.
He said the party will convene an aspirants' consultative meeting in Machakos to streamline elections preparedness and urged leaders to avoid dividing party membership by claiming there are preferred candidates.
