The notion of the two-horse-race has been completely misunderstood. In any horse race, there are horses and there are the jockeys. Commentators on this matter continue to mistake the jockeys for the horses.
The two-horse-race in Kenya is a race between reform and status quo. Our Candidate, Raila Amolo Odinga, is the jockey on the horse of reform. The jockey on the other horse will emerge, in the fullness of time.
Commentators and media will help Kenyans to understand this notion better if the focus comes more sharply to bear on the issues. Our focus is on making the new Constitution work. It is now clear that there are those who are determined to defeat the Constitution.
We restate that the General Election is going to be a two-horse-race. It is not about individuals. The individuals in the race only represent the forces in the competition.
This is Kenya’s moment. We must decide whether we shall move forward or go back.
