URP presidential aspirant William Ruto has said his party will provide universal healthcare services to all Kenyans if elected president. The Eldoret North MP said his government will set a special kitty to cater for heath services.
"The universal health care scheme will ensure health services to Kenyans, unlike now where provision of good healthcare services is only available to the rich," said Ruto.
Speaking at Mwakishimba, Werugha in Wundanyi during George Faraji Sambojas funeral at the weekend, Ruto said many Kenyans are not accessing proper healthcare because the government had yet to come with a "watertight healthcare scheme."
Faraji was the father of Granton Samboja, who is the Milele and Anguo FM stations general manager and proprietor. Ruto described the Faraji as a personal friend.
The URP leader was accompanied by Information Minister Samuel Pogishio, Environment minister Chirau Ali Mwakwere, Dujis MP Aden Duale and Mwala MP Daniel Muoki.
Muoki read the Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka's message of condolence. Former Voi MP Basil Mwakiringo read Musali Mudavadis condolence message. The leaders described Faraji as a loving family man and a hard working friendly person.
Ruto called on Kenyans to maintain peace during the campaign time. "Political competition should not be about hatred, tribe or religion, it should be about uniting the nation for the common good of addressing the current challenges facing the nation," he said.
Coast PC Samuel Kilele called on Taita Taveta residents to ignore the MRC and maintained that the government will boost security in the region which has been under terror attacks in recent months.
