Wednesday October 17, 2012 - Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s wife Mama Ida Odinga has called on the Kalenjin community to forgive her husband and support him during the upcoming elections.
Referring to the talks between the Premier and Eldoret North MP William Ruto, Mama Ida said it was the right time for the Kalenjin community to join forces with ODM to win the March elections.
“Let us come together as we did in 2007, we were headed in the right direction but could not make it due to circumstances beyond our control. If the Premier has wronged you, I am here to apologise on his behalf,’ Ida said.
She said she would personally tour all counties to popularize Raila in order to make sure he is the legitimate tenant of State House.
Ida also urged the Kalenjin women to support the dialogue between Raila and Ruto, saying the Kalenjin community would benefit more if the talks bear fruit.
Ida’s assertions were echoed by Roads Minister Franklin Bett who urged Ruto to support the PM’s Presidential bid if he wants to be President in 2017.
