RAILA is my HERO....Girl says after PM pays her ticket to the US

Thursday, August 16, 2012 - Prime Minister Raila Amollo Odinga jetted in yesterday from London Olympics and was received by fans at JKIA with song and dance. 

He came in together with Team Kenya and some people thought it was a campaign strategy but others saw him as a hero for rubbing shoulders with Olympians and promising to make a bid for Kenya to hold the 2024 Olympics.

Well after his arrival it was business as usual as he chose his first job was to pay an air ticket for a girl who had received a sponsorship to study medicine in the US. Nelly Cheboi had failed to travel on August 8 since she could not raise the air fare.

At his office along Harambee Avenue, the Premier handed Cheboi and her mother a ticket to the US.

The family appreciated the ticket, the girl said Raila is her hero and promised to return home a doctor.

Seems charity begins at home.
