An MP from the Rift Valley was angered by an SMS sent to his mobile number from a concerned resident of Keiyo South. The resident wanted to know why the Mheshimiwa would not use his good relations with the PNU wing of the coalition to bail out the financially crippled Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret and stop picketing at the hospital. The infuriated MP swiftly replied to the concerned resident, "U must be an idiot". The man has now threatened to sue the MP for this nasty reply.

A senior official in the Ministry moved from his posh Serena Polona Hotel to the Hotel VIP in Maputo. We are told the fellow was hiding his lover from the glare of the Kenyan contingent, who wondered why he had to carry his "chips funga" all the way to Maputo. Corridors wonders who paid the air fare for this stranger in the Kenyan camp.

A senior political writer for a leading daily is being sought in Kisii after disappearing with a bill of Sh3,100 from a local bar. The journalist known for his critical analyses entertained his girlfriend at the bar before leaving the huge bill with the waiter. The man had travelled to his rural home for a weekend outing and has since refused to pick up calls from the club management to settle the bill and the poor waiter who served him has been sacked as a result.

The SMSs sent to the Star claim that some powerful officers in the PM's office have become billionaires as a result of the scam.
