Share/Save/Bookmark A NEW political vehicle, the Progressive Third Force, was launched yesterday in Nairobi ahead of next year’s general election. The umbrella party which brings together other ‘socialist democratic’ movements seeks to wrestle power from ODM and PNU.
Addressing media at the launch, LPK secretary for information Erick Matsanza said his party will attend to unmet needs of Kenyans and offer desired form of leadership. “We are ready to constitute ourselves into a potent progressive third force political coalition order to wrest political control from the tribal elite through the ballot,” Matsanza said. He said that his party will field candidates across the country, in a bid to replace the tribal elite, which will in turn give salvation to the youth.
Matsanza attributed the poverty levels among Kenyans to failed leadership, saying the government and parliamentarians have turned their backs on the suffering and exploited citizens. “We are aware that the elite have tribalized and privatized the state for their exclusive benefit,” he lamented, adding that Kenyans have had enough of the status quo. “There is nothing else that Kenyans can expect from you,” he said.
Matsanza affirmed his party’s commitment to work together towards the formation of a united front, which will fight for socio-economic well being of the oppressed and marginalized members in the community.
