Share/Save/Bookmark Guests at an event organised to forge unity in the Kisii community at the weekend, were an amazed lot after a group of individuals claiming to be journalists nearly broke each other’s limbs as they scrambled for handouts donated by philanthropic guests. One youth nearly broke his leg in a manhole as he tried to get the better part of the Sh50,000 which was dished out for unspecified services.

Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka is promising a grand battle to succeed President Mwai Kibaki in the 2012 presidential elections. The VP, who has embarked on a mission to rebrand himself, has told his lieutenants to be ready for a  titanic clash with his enemies whom he accuses of taking him for granted. The VP is planning to launch his bid for presidency and preparations for the launch are in top gear.

Some ODM parliamentarians are disgusted by two wealthy MPs from Nyanza, whom they accuse of looking down upon their colleagues.The MPs are angry with their two flashy colleagues, who dangle their resources every time they meet at the parliamentary dining hall for tea breaks. One of the legislators was overheard saying that the  strange behaviour of their two colleagues is causing discomfort  in  the Nyanza Parliamentary Group as members feel they are being looked upon by the two.

One of the MPs allied to former Higher Education minister William Ruto is  worried about the anticipated by-elections in his constituency. The man who has mortgaged nearly three quarters of his monthly salary is wondering where he will get cash to finance his campaigns should the court rule against him.
